CWE Oil Palm Polytechnic Establishes Cooperation with the Center for Plantation Research and Development of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia

On this occasion, the Head of the Center for Plantation Research and Development, Ir. Syafaruddin, Ph.D, emphasized the importance of joint efforts to attract the interest of Indonesia’s young generation to enter and build careers in the plantation sub-sector. According to him, oil palm holds a highly strategic position in national economic development, both as a major source of foreign exchange, a provider of employment, and a driver of downstream industries. Therefore, innovation and skilled human resources are needed to support the sustainability of Indonesia’s palm oil industry amid global challenges.

This cooperation covers several important aspects, including joint research programs, research-based curriculum development, fieldwork practice programs, and capacity building for lecturers and students. Through this collaboration, CWE Oil Palm Polytechnic is expected to further strengthen its role as a vocational education institution capable of producing highly competitive graduates who are relevant to industry needs while supporting the government’s agenda in developing sustainable plantations.

In addition, this synergy is expected to become a concrete step toward building a modern, science-based, and innovative plantation ecosystem. By involving the younger generation in research, technological innovation, and best practices in plantation management, Indonesia has the potential to strengthen its position as a leading oil palm producer in the world, one that is oriented not only toward economic gains but also toward environmental sustainability and community welfare.
