The initial nursery stage is extremely important, and assigning inexperienced personnel at this stage is highly risky. Ironically, in new locations, this is difficult to avoid due to the limited availability of skilled workers who are able to work within a short period of time.

Common mistakes at this early stage include errors in selection and sprouts being planted upside down, both of which can have highly detrimental effects in the following stages.
